2019-20 School Bondar Challenge Winners

The following are Winners of the 2019-20 School Bondar Challenge. These images may be chosen to travel with The Foundation’s Travelling Exhibition and Learning Experience at selected venues in Canada and internationally.

Participants of the Bondar Challenge submit to one of four levels, with Emerald as our junior level, followed by Ruby and Sapphire, and Diamond as our most advanced level. Congratulations to all participants!

EMERALD

The First Place Emerald Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Colours” by Lara Shams.

The Runners-Up for the Emerald Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “Beauty at its Best” by Gabriella Wallace and “Lone Survivor” by Raymond Tian.

RUBY

The First Place Ruby Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Leafy Cone” by Aya Obied.

The Runners-Up for the Ruby Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “Ice on Trees” by Amal Abdelnour and “Two in One” by Evangeline Tau.

The Honourable Mentions for the Ruby Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “Sunset on the Tree” by Abheek Gupta and “Nature is Beautiful” by Alisha Rahaman.

SAPPHIRE

The First Place Sapphire Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Explosion of Wood” by Dana Akel.

The Runners-Up for the Sapphire Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “Beauty in the Dark” by Amelina Noupbacva and “Crack of Life” by Kaelyn Yao.

Parkdale had students from Grades 2 to 8 participate in the Bondar Challenge this year. Judging was done within Junior (Grade 2-3), Intermediate (Grade 4-6) and Senior (Grade 7-8) categories.

Level: Junior (Grade 2-3)

The First Place Junior Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Dahlia” by Ciara Kendall.

The Runners-Up for the Junior Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “Magnified Beauty” by Parker Penman and “Mr. Wiggly” by Colin Heggie.

Level: Intermediate (Grade 4-6)

The First Place Intermediate Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Down Lost Channel” by Max Hellen.

The Runners-Up for the Intermediate Level of the School Bondar Challenge are “The Swan in the Park” by Wilfred Fountain and “Cocoa Honey” by Hamena Keita.

An Honourable Mention for the Intermediate Level of the School Bondar Challenge is “Pink Dragon” by Jainaba Singhateh.

Level: Senior (Grade 7-8)

The First Place Senior Level Winner of the School Bondar Challenge is “Seeds B4 Flight” by Isabel Mckinney.
