On July 19, 2014, it is Canada’s Parks Day. Observed on the third Saturday of July, parks across the country join in a national event celebrating the importance of Canada’s national parks and the contribution that they make to healthy and diverse ecosystems.

Park agencies throughout the country choose this day to open new parks, park facilities, new initiatives, or special programs. These might include community campfires, hiking or water activities, Aboriginal displays and celebrations, and nature-themed or ecology-awareness events. All packed with photographic opportunity!

With the hundreds of National Parks, Provincial Parks, forest reserves, wildlife sanctuaries, Historic Sites, Heritage Sites, district, regional, and municipal parks, there is sea to sea opportunity for park celebration anywhere in the land.
